HWP Summer 2008 One-Hour TV Drama Writing Module

CALL FOR SUMMER 2008 PARTICIPANTS!

The Harvardwood Writers Program (HWP) is launching the Summer 2008 One-Hour TV Drama Writing Module in Los Angeles. The module will have 10 meetings over four months, every other Tuesday (7:00PM-10PM) from July 22 – Nov 25, 2008. Meetings will be in the Hollywood area. BACKGROUND

Harvardwood recruits qualified facilitators for the modules, provides administrative support, invites guest speakers (see http://www.harvardwood.org/?HWP for a list of previous speakers), helps to secure meeting locations, provides space on its enhanced website for listservs/groups, and distributes qualifying drama scripts at the conclusion of the module to a variety of established professionals in the entertainment industry (including producers, writers, creative executives and agents).

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Interested participants must be Paid Members or registered Friends of Harvardwood (Affiliates and nonmembers are not eligible to participate in the program)*, pay a $90 fee upfront to cover program costs, and commit to adhering to HWP Attendance Policies. Eligible participants will generally be selected into the group on a first-come/first-served basis, based on the response to the official email invitation (sent out a month before the start of each group). The roster of participants will not become official until program fees are collected and participating individuals approved by the group facilitator and Harvardwood Programs Directors. All experience levels are welcome. Please note that telecommuting is not allowed. *Harvardwood reserves the right accept/remove individuals to/from the program on a case-by-case basis, in order to create the best workshop environment for the majority of participants.

2. Harvard affiliation and year of graduation;
3. Area(s) of HWP interest (TV Comedy, TV Drama, and/or Screenwriting)
4. Whether you already have an agent;
5. Title and type of work samples (if you already have them);
6. Current job title and company name (if in the entertainment industry), or N/A if outside the industry;
7. Your purpose for joining a writers group (select more than one if appropriate):
a. Network
b. Refine writing craft / learn to write a spec
c. Produce a professional-quality spec
d. Determine what kind of writer you are (film, television, stage, etc.)
